1. Information we collect
Account & device identifiers. An anonymous device identifier (Apple's identifierForVendor) is used to attribute likes, saves, comments, and submissions to your install. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number unless you choose to provide them in a submission.
Content you submit. Video clips, captions, comedian metadata, and comments you upload are stored on our servers and shown to other users in the feed.
Interaction data. Likes, saves, follows, laugh counts, and comments you make in-app are stored alongside your anonymous device identifier.
Purchase data. If you subscribe to Chuckle Premium, RevenueCat and Apple process your purchase. We receive only your entitlement status, not payment details.
Diagnostics. Standard Apple-provided crash and performance logs, only if you have opted in through iOS settings.
2. Information we do not collect
No name, email, phone number, or address. No location data. No contacts, photos, calendar, or health data. No advertising identifiers. We do not show ads or use third-party ad networks.
3. How we use information
To show you the feed, your saved clips, and your submission history; to attribute your likes, saves, and comments across sessions on the same device; to deliver real-time updates; to process and verify in-app subscriptions; and to moderate user-submitted content and respond to abuse reports.
4. Third-party services
Supabase hosts our database, file storage, and realtime layer. RevenueCat manages subscription state. Apple processes in-app purchases and provides App Store and TestFlight distribution. Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use our website.
5. Website analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as pages viewed, session activity, browser and device information, and approximate location. This helps us improve Chuckle and our website experience.
With your permission, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visits and sessions. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising cookies or personalised advertising.
6. Your choices
When you visit our website, you can choose whether to allow Analytics cookies.
If you accept, Google Analytics may store analytics cookies on your device. If you decline, our website does not allow Google Analytics to read or write analytics cookies. Our analytics setup may still send limited, cookieless measurement signals to help us understand website performance while respecting your choice.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. For more information about how Google handles data, please review Google's privacy information.
7. User-generated content & moderation
Chuckle accepts user-submitted video clips. By submitting content you confirm you own or have rights to it. We may remove content that violates our community guidelines, including hate speech, harassment, illegal content, or sexually explicit material. You can report content in the app and we will respond within 24 hours.
8. Data retention & deletion
Your submissions, comments, and saved state remain until you request deletion. To delete your data, email hello@comedyaddiction.com from the device you used, or use the Delete my data option in the app. We will remove data tied to your device identifier within 7 days.
9. Children
Chuckle is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will remove the associated data.
10. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to processing. Contact hello@comedyaddiction.com and we will respond within 30 days.
11. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on encrypted infrastructure. No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app. The Last updated date reflects the most recent revision.
