Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Chuckle ("we", "our", "the app"), an app owned and operated by The Comedy Addict LLC, handles your information when you use the Chuckle iOS app. We built Chuckle to be a fun, lightweight place to discover stand-up clips — we collect as little personal information as possible.
1. Information we collect
- Account & device identifiers. An anonymous device identifier (Apple's
identifierForVendor) used to attribute likes, saves, comments, and submissions to your install. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number unless you choose to provide them in a submission. - Content you submit. Video clips, captions, comedian metadata, and comments you upload are stored on our servers (Supabase) and shown to other users in the feed.
- Interaction data. Likes, saves, follows, laugh counts, and comments you make in-app, stored alongside your anonymous device identifier.
- Purchase data. If you subscribe to Chuckle Premium, RevenueCat and Apple process your purchase. We receive only the entitlement status (premium: yes/no), never your payment details.
- Diagnostics. Standard Apple-provided crash and performance logs, only if you've opted in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics.
2. Information we do not collect
- No name, email, phone number, or address.
- No location data.
- No contacts, photos, calendar, or health data.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA). We do not show ads or use third-party ad networks.
3. How we use information
- To show you the feed, your saved clips, and your submission history.
- To attribute your likes, saves, and comments across sessions on the same device.
- To deliver real-time updates (new clips, comments) while you're in the app.
- To process and verify in-app subscription purchases.
- To moderate user-submitted content and respond to abuse reports.
4. Third-party services
- Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and realtime layer. supabase.com/privacy
- RevenueCat — manages subscription state. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Apple — processes in-app purchases and provides the App Store / TestFlight distribution channel. apple.com/legal/privacy
5. User-generated content & moderation
Chuckle accepts user-submitted video clips. By submitting content you confirm you own or have rights to it. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our community guidelines (no hate speech, harassment, illegal content, or sexually explicit material). You can report content via the in-app report button, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
6. Data retention & deletion
Your submissions, comments, and saved-state remain until you request deletion. To delete your data, email hello@comedyaddiction.com from the device you used, or use the "Delete my data" option in the app (Settings → Account → Delete my data). We will remove all data tied to your device identifier within 7 days.
7. Children
Chuckle is rated 12+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we'll remove the associated data.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to processing. Contact hello@comedyaddiction.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
9. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Supabase's encrypted infrastructure. No system is 100% secure — if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
